Hello world! Happy New Year 2011!!

Hello world! Happy New Year 2011!!

We are 2 nights away from celebrating the New Year! When all the dust is settled and all the crowds are gone, the things that matter are faith, family and friends.

Look for my splashes of joy. Laughter is good medicine ~ it’s a great “shock absorber” for life’s unexpected bumps. A happy heart bubbles over into a smile. And it’s contagious!

March 10, 2011 ~ it has been a year now since we lost our dear cousin Robert of France. I’ve taken many trips down memory lane; looking at photographs when we were in Paris, playing the video they made for the Canadians. They all warmed my heart! Rest In Peace, my special cousin!

It is now March 2011 and I have been missing in action ~ however not intentionally!

Gary had bilateral knee replacement surgery and I took on the role of nurse when he returned home after  3 weeks at rehab. After 5 months, he is well on the road to recovery and has surprised me in so many ways. Men are usually “difficult patients” but he proved me wrong! :)

March 25, 2011 ~ I will celebrate 2 years of clinical remission from my AML leukemia. What a milestone I have accomplished! If one had asked me when I was first diagnosed, never in my sane mind did I think I would pull thru it. With my immune system still compromised, I ended up with bacterial pneumonia in early March. A trip to Emerg had my heart palpitating as I thought for sure I would be admitted. Bed shortage was at a high time low and after 6 hours in Emerg, I was given strong antibiotics, potassium and 2 puffers and sent home to get better!  Doctors said to give myself a good 6 weeks for recovery. Pneumonia tires one terribly; it reminded me a little of when I was going thru my chemo. But today, I feel stronger and have been given the go-ahead for a trip to the sunny Caribbean! I am so looking forward to it!! Music warms my heart; sun, sand and sea warms my soul!

The Ashes of Innocence will be going into its 2nd printing with a new Epilogue and a couple of new chapters. Kudos to my editor, Randall Radic for his talents!  Stay tuned…..

I am delighted  to take on the role of “Maid of Honor” for a very special friend  ~ so many wonderful and exciting avenues to travel! This will be a joyous event for all of us and the excitement is felt by everyone!

There is grace and dignity in you that I marvel at. There is strength and a sense of self that few would possess if they had to experience what you have had to. There is understanding and honesty which has encouraged me. Keep well, God Bless
